What’s Your New Year’s Resolution?
Welcome to 2022! It’s exciting and scary isn’t it? After the last two years of lockdowns and depressing news around the world, making a New Year resolution might just be the thing to do.
Do you make New Year resolutions? Believe it or not, whether you make resolutions or not, the beginning of a new year is a great time to make changes to be a better you! Here’s my ten top resolutions that will make a huge difference in how you feel and live your life.
Making small goals that you know will make a difference in your day to day life and are realistic means that you will be more likely to achieve them.
10.Drink more water! We could all use a little more water in our daily lives. You can keep track of your water intake with an app, journal (free printable) or a marked water bottle.
9. Move more, sit less. Make it a goal to start taking daily walks, going for bike rides, or even running. Just something to get you up and moving a little more often.
8. Practice gratitude. The simple act of giving thanks has scientifically proven benefits. Gratitude is a small perspective shift, but it can significantly change your life. Kickstart this personal goal with a gratitude journal.
7. Make eco friendly choices. Making a positive impact in the world might feel futile as an average person but little decisions add up as a whole. Voting with your wallet is an important step you can take towards being more eco-friendly.
6. Do volunteer work. Volunteering time to help improve your community is a great way to give back. You can never go wrong with charity work – there are so many organisations that need a helping hand and it makes you feel so good to help someone in need.
5. Get into nature. Being in nature has huge health benefits. Not only are you breathing in fresh clean air but being in nature relaxes the mind and keeps the blood pressure down. Take your shoes off and ground yourself in the grass, sand or water.
4. Meditate. Take the time each day to take some deep breaths, to contemplate life and to quieten the mind. It has huge benefits for the whole body and done early in the day, prepares you for the day ahead.
3. Book some time away. Making sure you have regular mini breaks helps keep the stress at bay, gives you something to look forward to and keeps your mind fresh. It also helps to put money in a variety of different economies.
2. Spend less. Live more simply, buy less. Think about what you are spending your money on and be conscious before purchasing. You may discover that you don’t actually need the item at all.
1. Save more. Here’s my challenge to you! Put $20 a week in a jar, starting today! Keep it up for a whole year and see how the savings grows. Imagine having an extra $1040 at the end of the year? I’m going to do it …. Will you join me?
I can’t wait to see what’s in store for us in 2022! I’m taking a couple of weeks off to sit by the Ovens River in Porepunkah in January and recharge my batteries, read some books, soak up some sun and have plenty of sleep, awesome conversations and time with my kids. Hope you are doing some relaxing too!
Here’s to kicking off a year filled with free webinars, monthly workshops and launching my 6 week online course!
